The service
Data2MD converts documents into Markdown text. The converter on this site is free to use. An account raises the file size limit; a paid subscription raises it further and is what opens the HTTP API.
Accounts
An account is optional. Signing in works through a single-use link sent to your e-mail address, so there is no password to choose or lose. An account lists the conversions you made while signed in, so you can download, share or delete them. Because the link is what proves the account is yours, keeping access to that mailbox is your responsibility. To close an account, write to support@aiu4.com.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for what you upload. By using the service you confirm you have the right to process that content. Do not upload unlawful material or content you are not authorised to handle.
Usage limits
File size and how often you may convert both depend on whether you are signed in and whether you subscribe. Without an account the limit is 10 MB per file; with a free account, 20 MB; with a subscription, 200 MB. A limit on how often you may convert also applies, counted per address for anonymous use and per account otherwise. These limits keep the service available to everyone and may change without notice.
Subscription and payment
A subscription is monthly and renews automatically until cancelled. Payment is handled by Stripe, on a page they host: card details are never sent to or stored by this site. The charge is made in the currency of the country your card was issued in, and both amounts are shown on the plans page before you start.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from the billing page linked in your dashboard. Cancelling stops future renewals; subscription features stay available to the end of the period already paid for, and the account then returns to the free plan. Nothing you converted is deleted by cancelling. For anything about a specific charge, write to support@aiu4.com.
Availability and results
The service is provided as is, with no guarantee of continuous availability or of conversion fidelity. Documents with no text layer — scanned images, for instance — cannot be converted. Check the result before relying on it for anything that depends on accuracy.
The API
The HTTP API is part of the subscription and is used with a token created in your dashboard. Treat the token like a password: anything done with it counts as done by your account. You can replace or revoke it at any time, and the previous token stops working immediately.
Content and account removal
We may remove any conversion at any time, including for operational reasons, without prior notice. We may also suspend an account being used in a way that threatens the availability of the service for others.
